Living in Manhattan you begin to realize how unforgiving and gritty life can be. Nothing is going to be handed over to you. We are told that we must be go getters, that nothing falls in your lap. I always kind of expected for a great job or opportunity would just pop up in my email one day. That I would be offered some amazing experience working on a great independent feature. Life doesn’t work like that.

That being said, I was very pleased to be amongst film makers last night. I attended a Q and A for a film called Undoing. There was a reception before and I was able to talk to people who know how to work the industry, not just the industry but also the room. I find it slightly frustrating that you have to sell yourself in order to get ahead in this world. But if my social graces have taught me anything it’s to be eager to learn. Take an opportunity that comes up, don’t shy away from it. I guess that’s what I am learning to stop shying away from risks. Because without risks I will be working the same crummy day job until I am forty.  My goal for the new year is stop letting life go by, I have to be more proactive!

I will be working on a project produced by the fabulous Pearl Gluck come mid August. It is a short bio of three Covenant Award winners. The awards are issued to three outstanding Jewish Educators. I am going to be the assistant editor with her on that project.

I will also be working with a new New York branch of A Millennial Production for Jersey Prep. A little DVD that they will include with their admissions informations. I am super excited to get my hands dirty on different projects. I do owe a huge thanks to a good friend from yester year, Caitlin Dyer. If it weren’t for her I don’t know that Millennial and I would have crossed paths. Thanks Caitlin!

Thank you for stopping by my site. I have just started to put this together with footage of the work I have done so far as a budding film editor. Please contact me with feedback on the site and if you want to view my work.
